We are delighted to continue to support the Ron Dearing University Technical College (UTC) after its official opening by new Patron the Rt Hon Alan Johnson last week.
Dutton Moore has been involved in its start-up over the last few years and now Managing Partner Tony Bullock sits as a Guarantor for the new school in Kingston Square, Hull, which opened its doors to students last September.
The employer-led school has celebrated its powerful partnership with leading businesses across the region and their contribution to the successful launch of a new education model in the city with a mission to develop a new generation of work-ready young people with advanced digital skills.
The pioneering centre has already received 325 applications for the upcoming academic year – well in excess of the 230 places available.
Mr Johnson said the students coming through the UTC would act as trailblazers when it came to homegrown talent, boosting Hull’s economy and helping to address a nationwide skills shortage. He said: “It’s about showing we have the skills to ensure companies like Siemens, Smith and Nephew and RB feel they have the right supply of skills coming from the city and don’t have go elsewhere.“
We wish the College and all its new students every success.
