John Gilleard retires from the partnership after over 40 years  of service
1 July 2021

John, having joined the firm on 7th July, 1980 as a young trainee ascended the career ladder and became a partner in 1999 taking on numerous in-house roles along the way as well as managing a diverse portfolio of clients ranging from sole-traders to large corporate groups, whilst also encompassing work with the legal and charity sectors  which included the audit of Hull UK City of Culture 2017 Ltd. He even went back to the classroom in 2014 to obtain the ICAEW Probate qualification enabling the firm to become the first accountancy firm in the city to hold a probate licence.

Whilst bidding a farewell to colleagues John said “Although computerisation and increased regulation have changed some of our working practices, the core principle of client care has remained paramount over the years.  I have enjoyed the camaraderie with colleagues and I’m confident the firm will continue to thrive for many years to come.”

We thank John and congratulate him on his over 40 years’ service with the firm and wish him all the best for a long and happy retirement.
